SDG 13 Social Entrepreneurs

Vayugrid is a global leader in clean energy, engaged in building bioenergy supply chains based on its patent pending elite Pongamia trees, VayuSap and in partnership with governments, industry, and rural communities.

To be the global bioenergy leader by producing bioenergy at a cost on par with traditional energy, on lands not suitable for food crop while ensuring social inclusion, long-term economic sustainability and environmental compliance.

To build community based bioenergy and biofuel supply chains in association with rural communities, government, and other industry players.

VayuGrid, engaged in affordable bioenergy supply, has announced that it has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with New Renewable Energy Development Corporation of Andhra Pradesh (NREDC-AP). The MoU is for Andhra Pradesh to develop panchayat level Bio Energy Zones (BEZs) for green power generation including the power generation facilities, the bioenergy green coal plantation supply chain, and the biofuel processing infrastructure necessary to meet the low-cost production of clean energy.

  • Currently, Vayugrid doesn’t have any funding requirements, however they would like to be a part of the platform to garner access to Alliances which may not have been available to them earlier – other social entrepreneurs in the Environmental Sector, Investors and sectoral experts in their sector.
